A perfect base to explore Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove with the passenger ferry to Whitianga only a convenient 10 minutes drive away.
Kayak the stream from our jetty & enjoy the natural bird habitat, exploring caves and walking on gorgeous Lonely Bay. Finish your day unwinding by the fire with a wine from our local vineyard, in the company of fellow travellers.
Bed and Breakfast.
Our bed and breakfast guest wing has three luxurious suites, with french doors opening on to private decks for outdoor dining - overlooking subtropical gardens, a tranquil stream and native bush. Each Whitianga Accommodation suite has their own private steps to their deck.
Our spacious double Cooks Beach bed and breakfast guest suites (Victorian & Pacifica) have queen-size beds and ensuites. Our Beachhut bed and breakfast Suite has a queen-size bed with ensuite bathroom downstairs & 2 single beds on an open mezzanine floor above - our twin beds option or just great for 2 to 4 people travelling together.
All Cooks Beach bed and breakfast suites come with crisp cotton linen, tea and coffee facilities, window seating & table, TV, DVD and fridge - plus superb tiled ensuite bathrooms with quality fittings, toiletries and hairdryer. Wi-fi internet provided.
Cottage
Cooks Beach B&B Cottage is ideal for one or two couples, and has 1 queen bed in large upstairs lounge and 1 king or 2 single beds downstairs. One party bookings only. Share fully tiled bathroom downstairs with shower. Special breakfast hamper for first night of stay.
Lots of facilities including: Well equipped kitchen, lounge with TV, DVDF, CD and Wi-fi Internet. Outdoor table & 4 chairs on deck, a gas BBQ, and private lawn area with own gate entry. Kayaks available for use in Cooks Stream.

This long sandy beach which caught Capt Cook's eye is an ideal place to unwind and explore beautiful Mercury Bay! Cooks Beach is flanked by Shakespeare Cliff to the west and sheltered and picturesque Purangi Estuary to the east. The area boasts some of NZ's oldest history - Capt James Cook sailed on the HMS Endeavour into Mercury Bay in 1769 and made anchor at Cooks Beach off Purangi.
