How do I find a B&B or Activity?
There are different ways to do this. You can search using the drop down lists and/or keywords that you see on every page if you have some ideas about where you want to visit. Or you can click on the links on the menu bar and you will see a map of New Zealand. You can then select a region and browse through the available B&B’s or Activities.
If you know the name of the B&B or Activity, or you are looking for a certain type e.g. sea views, or lakefront, you could try and search on the keyword facility – although it is always a good idea to narrow down your search to the North or South Island, or even Region first!
 
How do I book a B&B or Activity?
One you’ve found somewhere that meets your requirements, you can either use the contact form to send a message directly to the B&B and Activity or send them an email. If a B&B uses Vianet International Limited (Vianet), an online booking system, you will the availability calendar and can make a live booking without the need to contact the owners. You will receive a booking confirmation during this process.
 
Can you organise my holiday?
Unfortunately we cannot organise holidays, as we are not a travel agency and simply offer a website for owners of B&B’s and Activities to advertise their businesses.
 
Where can I find flights to New Zealand?
Many travel agents on and offline can help you with flights to New Zealand. Or you could try Air New Zealand’s website for their latest offers.
 
What do I do if I want to cancel a booking?
You should contact the B&B or Activity directly as soon as possible. Please be aware that different businesses will have different cancellation policies, but don’t worry - you will be advised of the Operator’s cancellation policy during the booking process.
 
Will I get a refund if I cancel?
That will depend on the individual operator’s cancellation policy. You should deal with them directly and inform them of any cancellation at the earliest opportunity.
 
What do star ratings mean?
A B&B or Activities star ratings can mean different things. All listings have the opportunity to self rate on different criteria and some listings will have a Qualmark rating which is the official quality system in New Zealand. If you hover the cursor over the stars you will see the description.
 
Where does the feedback score for B&B’s come from?
When guests leave feedback about a B&B they rate their stay out of ten based upon three criteria: Facilities, Service and Value. The ratings are averaged to give the score that you see at the foot of a listing.
 
How do I leave feedback?
If you have stayed with one of our listed B&B’s then we encourage you to leave feedback to help others decide whether to stay there. To leave feedback, search for the B&B and click on the Rate This B&B button. A new window will open and you can fill out the details and submit your rating and any comments you’d like to make. The feedback might not appear on the site immediately as all feedback comments are filtered to check for spam and other illegal items.
 
How do you ensure that guest feedback is genuine?
We require a name, valid email address and the date of stay at a B&B so that if there is any hint that the details look suspicious we can check the validity of the information. All feedback comments are filtered for spam and other illegal items before being published onto the site. 
 
Do we need to be environmentally friendly on holiday?
New Zealand is a beautiful place but it won’t stay like this if we don’t think about how we treat the country. That means thinking about everything such as not dropping litter to contributing to environmental projects, buying ecologically sound goods and observing government guidelines when out in the countryside.

How do I list my B&B or tourist business on BestBnB.co.nz?
At the bottom of the page there is a link to List Your Business. Click on this and you will start the process of adding your details and photos to get listed on BestBnB.co.nz.
